Dangling bare feet, sway with summer's song
Reflections of youth, ripple across the pond
Echoes of laughter, bounce high atop the cliff
As fish catches worm, and boy catches fish
Pink watermelon smiles, upon sun freckled face
Seasoned with simplicity, how sweet the taste
Familiar paths worn, through goldenrod fields
Winged things scatter, with the thumping of heels
Sparkling young eyes, squint with June sun
Clouds become horses, while imaginations run
Laughter filled meadows, float upon the breeze
Adrift among sparrows, to enlighten tall trees
Yellow sun sinking, beneath wise old hills
Lightening bugs blinking, to call one last thrill
Song of crickets sing, joined by band of frogs
Whippoorwill chimes in, to complete rhythmic song
Night moon dances, slowly brings day to rest
Yawning children still, lean on mother's breast
Gently flows the tonic, soothing timeless age
As youth seeps in, through hearts of babes
