One night while I was surfing,
I stumbled into this room
I felt the aura encircle me, and lift
me from my gloom
This room was very special, the honesty
filled the screen
I struggled with the concept, could
this be a dream?
I sat quietly in the corner,
holding my secrets within
Could I share my shame with them, how
would I begin?
I watched in pain and silence, the
chills ran up my spine
Someone began to reveal a past, that
echoed back to mine
I marveled at her courage,
her words played a song in me
Each line had so much power, as she
released and set them free
The others gathered around her, but
not one stone was cast
Embraced in arms of compassion, the
healing had begun at last
I sat there in the darkness,
with only the light from the screen
A light at the end of my tunnel, through
this door I can be me
I took the hand of a stranger, and
the words began to flow
Out of the darkness my secrets came,
for all in the room to know
The lies were finally over,
through tears I continued to speak
About the child who lived in me, who's
soul was wounded and weak
Somehow I felt the closeness, as I
squeezed the strangers hand
I've never known such comfort, they
seemed to understand
This room is blessed with
angels, for with their hearts they see
The need for love and acceptance, like
all the world should be
The door is always open, what
I wear just doesn't appeal
My presence is what matters, and my
feelings are always real
I frequent this room often,
and share my life with friends
Give everyone a great big hug, and
ask them how they've been
I hope to give to others, the chance
that was given to me
One small corner of this world, where
we are free to be

God bless all the people in Support and Recovery
Thank you is too small of
a statement
For the strength, courage and openness
that bonds us
And gives to us that wonderful feeling
that we are ok, just as we are
