Bone Marrow Donors Needed
Connor

This is five month old Conner who is fighting for his life with a rare
disease called Hemophagocytic Lymphohistrocytosis or HLH.
Little Conner has recently been diagnosed with this rare disease and is
currently undergoing chemotherapy at Children's Hospital in Ontario, Canada.
He will receive chemo for six month, at which time we pray the HLH will
go into a remission stage. If remission is established, then little Conner
will need a bone marrow transplant. This is where YOU can help.
Little Conner's family needs people to be tested for donor matches.
This is a simple blood test. A tube of blood is drawn and the proteins (antigens)
in the blood are matched to the patient. It does not have to be a
perfect match to find a donor, but the closer the better.
The information I have researched tells me that if YOU are the match for Conner,
the bone marrow can be collected from where you are and flown to Ontario.
If you wish to find out more about about being tested or about bone marrow
or other transplants, you can call the Division of Bone Marrow and Transplantation of the Health Services and Resources Administration at 301-443-7577.
